THE UNWELCOMED VISITORS

Residents of Kisii town are currently in shock due to the mushrooming invasion of the town by the unwelcomed visitors, “bats”.
The highly developing town situated in Nyanza region, and due to the presence of gloomy vegetation within the town, bats have found it easier to dwell within the town. The ugly creatures, producing a stench which can never be pleasant even to the mentally ill now provides a new look of the town.
The scene of the domicile of the bats reminded me of the ten plagues that befell Egypt, particularly the invasion by the Frogs! The ‘territories of the flying mammals’ is a no go zone. Business being the major activity going on within the town but there is no single business going on under the trees terrorized by the bats. Even if there could be a hawker determined to open a grocery within these areas, he/she could have gone hungry because nobody dare stop even for a second within these areas, let alone a minute!
Known for its beautiful vegetation and climatic condition, Kisii town is now taking a new route and sooner or later, its beauty will soon fade away as dew if the current menace is not addressed and taken into consideration.
My appeal to the county government of Kisii is to try and find a solution to curb the rising menace within the beautiful town which I particularly refer to as “the city of south Nyanza”
